All of them play a major role in creating a healthier environment for the industry. As part of the digital news initiative, publishers in Europe have to submit specific plans for implementing the information provided in their publications. These plans, when approved by the governing board of the publishers' sector, form the basis for the implementation plan. This is to ensure that an effective innovation strategy is developed and implemented across the board. Another interesting initiative of the digital news working group is its contribution to the International Journalist's Association (IBA), an international association devoted to the growth of the global independent media. This year marked the 40th anniversary of the first publication of the IBA Journal, which helped launch new publications and increase interest in global news. magazine participating publishers are required to take into consideration recommendations from the working group on their plans for the next four years. If magazine agree to participate in the activities and to contribute to the journal, they will be given financial rewards. The participating publishers will also be required to submit written proposals for the following topics: the role of the private and public media, digital newsrooms and new technologies. Topics that will be considered for the future include sustainable innovation, investigative journalists, the impact of social media, and citizen journalism. Submitted projects must include a detailed analysis, summary, and proposed solutions. The submission should focus on current trends, current issues, and projected future developments. It will serve as a basis for the organization's work for the coming year. The European Journalism Initiative can also support in disseminating information about the functioning of the publishing industry in Europe. This year's edition of the journal will be focused on the activities of the EMA, the European Association of Journalists (EAJ), and the European Federation of Journalists (EFR). Both these organizations have been supported by the European Journalism Initiative since its foundation in 2021. The EMA is an intergovernmental organization dedicated to strengthening ties between the media and public society in Europe and beyond. The EFA works closely with members from different sectors of the publishing industry in order to improve the quality of the press, increase knowledge exchange, and promote debate. For the last four years, the EAJ has been closely allied with the European Journalism Initiative. In this way, the organization was able to strengthen its own position within the industry and strengthen ties with other relevant groups. The association also works on issues that are of vital importance to the wider membership. For instance, it promotes a higher level of competition among press clubs and promotes the development of a democratic media system that will guarantee the independence of media organisations from commercial or political influences. Another important area is the freedom of information act that aims at opening the lines of communication between the private sector and the government. magazine but not least, the European Journalists for excellence (EURIN), headed by the French national news organisation, Le Monde, is also an active participant of the Digital News Initiative. It was founded in 2021 as a platform for European journalism. Today, it brings together members from different journalistic backgrounds and helps them develop new skills and build new networks. Through its international and local partnerships, the EURIN provides opportunities for young news publishers.
