The Nextion Discovery Series MCU clock speed is 64 MHz which is more powerful than the Basic Series. There are 2.4”, 2.8“, 3.5” HMI display size options for your choice.
Compared with Basic Series, the Discovery Series has a better MCU performance, with the new image compression technique, the Discovery Series allows more pictures in the same amount of flash compared to Basic and Enhanced models. The operating current of deep sleep mode is as low as 0.25mA which makes the Discovery Series displays more suitable for battery-powered projects.
You can develop the HMI GUI project via the free Nextion Editor software, the easy Drag-and-Drop components and simple ASCII text-based instructions will dramatically reduce your HMI project development workloads.
The Nextion solution is the best balance HMI solution between cost and benefit with a low and decreased learning curve.

All Discovery Series products are resistive touch panel type
Two 4-pin XH connectors for 5V power supply, TX, RX and GND allow this interface to be easily daisy-chained between either a power supply / USB to TTL serial adapter like the Nextion Foca Max, or any MCU (Arduino, etc.) on one side (J1) and a Nextion HMI display on the other side (J2). The on-board switch SW1 allows to select between 2 modes:
* PRGM: RX + TX signals are directly routed from J1 to J2 which allows to program the device on J2 by the device on J1 while the MIDI interface is idle.
* MIDI I/O: RX + TX signals from the device on J2 are converted and linked to the MIDI IN and MIDI OUT 5-pin DIN sockets.

The Nextion Micro SD card extender helps you to access the SD card slot of the Nextion HMI display more conveniently. It supports the FAT32 Micro SD card as well as all series of Nextion HMI displays compatibilities.

Foca Max is a USB to TTL serial converter board with 5.5V2A output. it integrates a high power and energy-efficient DC-DC chip of TPS54331 for a wide voltage input with small voltage ripple. For USB to TTL conversion, the Foca Max can be power supplied by USB only or USB together with external DC 8-26V, The USB and external DC power supplies are isolated by using a diode (SS34) to avoid the current backflowed between them.
Note: as for the Nextion HMI display size less than 4.3”, you can only use the USB for power supply, size large than 4.3”, a external DC 8-26V for power supply is recommended.
